Charles Spurgeon on Predestination

Yes, I know I haven't posted in a while but I have not abandoned this blog and thus I'm going to liven it up with some words from Spurgeon!
This quote is my reply to Arminians (and anyone else for that matter) who disagrees with the divinely inspired and Scripturally taught doctrine of Predestination.

"What a new picture it is to profess to honor God by a doctrine that makes salvation depend on the will of man! "If it were true, you would be able to say to God, "We thank you, O Lord, for what you have done; because You have given us a great many things, and we offer You, Your portion of praise, and that which is justly due to Your name. But we think (in the first analysis) we deserve even more of the praise and honor since the thing that ultimately decided the issue of our salvation was our own free will.
Beloved, do now swerve (any one of you) from the free grace of God, because the babblings about man's free agency are neither more or less than lies, right contrary to the truth of Christ and the teachings of the Spirit. How certain, then, is the salvation of every elect soul! Because Scripture teaches us that salvation, "does not depend on the will of man;" he is "made willing" in the day of God's power. He shall be called at the set time, and his heart shall be effectually changed, that he may become a trophy of the Redeemer's power. And the fact that he was unwilling before, is no hindrance, for God giveth Him the will, so that he is then of a willing mind. And it is that way, that literally every heir of heaven must be saved, because the Spirit is put within Him, and thereby his dispositions and affections are molded according to the will of God. Why, then, do most men object to this doctrine that salvation does not depend on the will of man? Because, man- even religious man- does not wish to be reminded of his true condition. And so he responds to the attempt to put his salvation back in God's hands (as Scripture plainly declares) by promoting the myth of man's "free will"...and giving the creature more power than Scripture declares...and the Almighty Creator less power than Scripture declares!" -Charles Spurgeon
